Jaime Meza

I'm a software engineer fueled by the ever-changing landscape of technology. The constant evolution keeps me engaged and motivates me to continuously learn and adapt within the tech industry. This drive to stay ahead of the curve is what makes me a valuable asset to any team.

With almost 3 years of experience, I've honed my skills in Python, particularly Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and the Django framework. I also possess a strong foundation in JavaScript, with experience in both Node.js for back-end development and Angular for front-end functionality.

Beyond technical expertise, I value collaboration and possess a quick learning ability. I thrive in fast-paced environments and am always eager to expand my knowledge base.

I'm currently seeking a full-time software engineering role where I can leverage my skills to contribute to a dynamic team and make a positive impact on the world.

Experience

Software Engineer

Thrasio
  • Data Pipeline Design and Implementation

Designed and implemented efficient and scalable data pipelines to support machine learning and analytics initiatives. Leveraged Databricks to automate the process of testing and deploying these pipelines, resulting in significant efficiency gains.

  • Collaboration with Data Science Teams

Collaborated closely with data scientists and engineers to understand their data infrastructure needs. To empower them further, we built a custom tool that allows their code to run seamlessly as nodes within the data pipelines.

Additionally, we implemented MLflow for robust artifact management, enabling data scientists to efficiently store, read, and write data to and from Snowflake.

  • Data Infrastructure Management

Monitored and proactively addressed data pipeline and infrastructure issues, guaranteeing smooth data flow and system uptime.

Implemented dbt models automated through Airflow. This approach decoupled transformation logic from the pipeline, leading to cost reductions in development and production by eliminating duplicate workloads.

  • Product Information Management Tool (PIM)

Led a team effort with data infrastructure and product catalog engineers to expand the PIM's reach to new markets.

Collaborated on building data pipelines using APIs, S3 buckets, dbt, and Snowflake to ensure accurate and efficient data import for the new markets.

Integrated the imported market data seamlessly into the PIM tool, enabling product managers to efficiently update product information across these new markets.
